Recently ended up with this unit when it was included with items purchased from a charity fundraiser.

I have no prior experience with vintage JBL, and found pictures online that it look similar to an old C50 Olympus, but not certain.

Primary component part numbers are; LE15A, LE85, and LX5

Wondering if anyone has advice on how to Identify this model and (if it has value) set a resale price. (Components appear to be in very good condition, but has not been tested)

Thanks,

Yes, that is a C-50 Olympus speaker. Check ePay to see what the unit or pieces are going for.

Too bad you dont have the other one.

I paid $275 for a lone 1 a few months back & paid $150 to get it shipped. You could part it out and get $150 for the woofer, $200 for the Grille. $200 for the Horn with lens, $100 for the Crossover. I have 5 of them and just can't part them out. Just can't! THESE ARE Minimum prices I'm giving you. Wait to February and you'll get more if the ecomy dosen't get worse. Take the woofer loose and see if its an early 60s with the blue drivers. Some say they are worth more. Let me know if you part out. You may be able to do better. If you want to keep it all together i would offer you $300 but that's because from Seattle it would cost me a fortune to get it to me. :banghead:

P.S. You want get much unless you test it and it works.

One of the best JBL speakers for Rock & Roll I have ever heard, IMHO!

I have a nice pair so I am kinda biased

Must be a very early one. I have never seen one with only the LE15 (no PR) and no cut outs for 075 or N7000 or SE408 energizer. The energizer didn't come out 'til 66 so it's obviously before that.

It's probably 62 - 63 like mine are.
