Anyone recognize these beauty's? These were the first big Altec I ever bought over 15 years ago and I just got them back today. They are loaded with a 415C and a little 3000 (R)? horn tweeter. I remember at the time not knowing what model they were. I have gone thru the library here and all my Altec literature with no luck. They are 28 1/2 H X 24 W X 18 D

But not the Seville, the grill is different and flat. Those are 15 inch 415C bi-flex so perhaps early 70s?

They sound AWESOME!

Could be an Altec 870B you can get that 3000B repaired it takes a microphone diaphragm there is a place out in Anaheim that repairs those 3000 tweets,mics,etc... He's an old Altec technician.Call him soon as the last i heard he was quite busy so there may be a wait.

IIRC I think that they were just before the Santanas.Except for the different tweet.

Wow !! It wasn't that long last time I heard. Your Welcome ! I'm Sorry he wasn't a viable option for you though. He has the original diaphragm's for those 3000's though, maybe you can get the diaphragms from him and install.Unless your local tech has them. Regards !

Just a little foot note:back in the late 60's it was very common to buy cabinets made by Barzilay and install raw speakers of your choice.in the 1968 Lafayette catalog you had many choices from Altec,JBL,Utah,EV and Lafayettes own brand(I think Allied carried them too).a price for every budget.

Thanks for the ad. I have those exact cabinets with 604Es and have seen many of them with various speakers but never any literature.
