Jbl professional series 4688-4 subwoofer

How does the JBL 4688-4 Subwoofer compare with modern compact subs or is it down to amplification?

to me it comes down to a clean signal and lots of low THD amplification. With a good amp a 46XX sub will go infrasonic at 15 hz, and the whole house will rumble; and you have extraordinary bass response.

I'm running two 4645B's with 750 WPC at a typical 0.05% THD into each one, and theres no way a smaller sub delivers like they do. Read the plate amps specs.;)

Is that with EQ? Or are you running the subs flat?
