Dues anyone know the Thiele/Small parameters for 1501AL

The 1501AL is 12 ohm and 1500AL is 8 ohm and the voice coil winding length is 30 mm for 1501AL but 20 mm for 1500AL.

thanks

I was told last week that the 1501AL is NLA so it probably doesn't matter.

I didn't bother to measure the Le of either driver. I guess I could if only for the sake of science when I have time.

http://www.focal.com/files/catalog-utopia-iii-gb.pdf

in this pdf, Focal states they reached a BL of 34 Tm, i don;t know if this is a lie or not, but i just cannot believe the 1501AL(measured aprox 27 BL by Giskard) is inferior in this spec to the 16 inch focal woofer.

can you come with arguments please?, there must be something rotten in focal specs (i only assume).

i also want to say hi, as i am new from this day to this forum:)

Getting a high BL is not a problem. Just put a very long wire in the gap.

You have to see alle the parameters together as a system.

The Focal system is also an elctromagnet, and not a permanent magnet as used in the JBL.

Edit: Here is a woofer that manages the same with a permanent magnet system: http://www.rcf.it/en_US/products/precision-transducers/neodymium-low-frequency-transducers/lf15n451

Nice with all these specs. (-;
can someone tell me What the difference is on the last 2 specs (1-W spl) (and 2.8-V spl)

Really no one knows the meaning of the 2 specs? (-;

IIRC, the 2.83V/1M measurement is the same as 1W/1M only for 8 ohm speakers, where 1W/1M can be used for any speaker impedance. In other words, 2.83V into a 4 ohm speaker gives 2 watts, where 2.83V into an 8 ohm speaker gives one watt.

Google is your friend here, it can come up with many more (and undoubtedly better) explanations:

The 1501 has a spl on 94.1db at 1W.
There are two of them in DD66000 😋😋
but the DD66000 "only" end up with at total sensetivity at 96db at 1W.
how is that??

I have always learned that double up on woofers is 6db increase.
but that seemed not to be the case here.

why?😳😁

anyway.. I absolutte love that speaker.. 😛😛

I have always learned that double up on woofers is 6db increase.
but that seemed not to be the case here.Actually adding an identical speaker gives you 3dB more output and 3dB more power handling so combined you have a potential 6dB of SPL increase... of course with woofers in close proximity you also gain from mutual coupling.

At the end of the day sensitivity figures for a speaker are a little bit flexible. I would not sweat it.

Hallo, this is my first post in this forum.
I‘m a JBL-fan since my first LX166 speakers. Last year I build my 4430 clone and now it‘s time for more...
I build s9900-like cabinets for my 1500al woofers with internal volume of 122,5 liters. Can anybody tell me the displacement volume of the 1500al speaker in the cabinet, because I haven‘t found it in the „specs.“?
I hope someone can help.
Best regards
Menk
