Having always been fond of both the L36 and original in-line L100, I was wondering if this compliment would "work" or if there would be major concerns. Having installed 127A woofers into the L36 as a replacement, I know they work fine running "wide open". In fact I noticed a marked improvement in upper bass response. The L50's have always sounded very neutral and flat in comparison. Like listening to the L36's with a curtain in front of them.
Unfortunately the early L100 speakers have proved to be hard to come by for a decent price. For a fraction of the cost I may be able to have something similar with the improved LE5-10 mids and LE26 tweeters.
Has anyone tried this before?
