When you have to replace cracked glass top, what is the best way to do that? Do you just take the other top in to a glass shop and have them match it?

Thanks...

...did a search for this...I went through 3 pages and quit :(

Take the remaining piece to your local glass shop and have them make you 2 pieces of smoked glass - if you replace BOTH you know they match.

There was This thread from a few years back (http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?17694-Glass-Top-speakers) - even speakers that didn't originally come with glass tops
(like the L-200s and the 4341 monitors) work well with protective tops.

If you follow from here http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?17238-Backyard-Box-Building-The-Build/page5&highlight=backyard+box+building post 66 you will see that the corner /edge trim is 1/2" and the glass is 1/4". The originals had a foam and card packer to make the glass flush but of course the foam rotted and it all sank down.
I used 10mm glass with a tiny edge bevel and little glazing pips to make up the extra. I think they were 40 quid for 2
