Dear all

Frankly the whole soundpower P series seems less than adequately described. Some bits are found on the jblservice website but even the c236 crossover which looks quite interesting lacks a manual.
The P 798 is a tcb cabinet loaded with 2 x 2243H (2242H basket). However I have not been able to dig more information up on these cabinets other than this:
http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Sound%20Power%20P-Series/P798.pdf

has anyone heard them? -- are they comparable to the 4688 which is better described:
http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?6782-4688-TCB-Monster-Subwoofer

there is few for sale locally with broken drivers and I'm tempted to figure out how much they go for, even though reconing will cost a small fortune.

Regards
Andreas

Hmm

I might go for them and recone to 2242H as a BP6 model the TCB quite nicely. I used 175 L for the outer chambers and 100L for the mid chamber and 24,68 Hz as tuning frequencies.
However this might be terribly wrong as I do not know the internals of the box or the tuning frequencies. I guesstimated the volumen and used the tuning from 4688.

I do have a feeling that my small house would acquire earth escape velocity with these in house.

Andreas

Has anyone practical experience with reconing the 2243H to 2242H.?

It seems that there are conflicting opinions on this. It seems that by searching the archives you get some conflicting info. 4343B states that they share the same basket, whereas Oldmics states that the 2243H is a mashup between a 2241 and a 2245 and does
not fit to the c8r2242h ?
