I am doing the layout for my XPL 200A clones and have yet to get eyes on a XPL200 or XPL200A yet. I could really use some help. If someone even has a straight front photo with as little angle as possible and one shot straight down from the top. I am attempting to use the photos from the site with some difficulty. I would appreciate any help. I included a photo of what I am trying.

Here's a PDF of the specifications giving the outside dimensions.

This is a 160 but they should be similar

Wow! in the time it took for me to figure out how to send my photo I had six replies. I plan on doing what Robh had suggested previously and scaling the images to draw up a baffle with the correct offsets. I am doing a full size paper template to help with the layout. Thanks for the help all. One thing that is going to be hard is the trapezoidal taper as seen looking straight down from the top. It will influence the total volume.

You have the overall width and depth. Scale the width of the back, center it on the front width. Half the difference combined with the depth gives you the taper.

David

Edit: For the bottom! Yes, I see. The rounding of the corners and the bezel-type thing on the front complicates it. Still, with some judicious adding and subtracting you should be able to come really close.

On Photo 3, I was trying to figure out what was on that photo that looks like an exposed wire draped on the left side. Then it hit me - the bane of my existance - cat hair. It obviously got on the scanner bed as it has into every other nook and cranny in my place. I swear, even though I vacuum regularly, there is enough cat hair floating around here to build another cat.

We had a poster, moniker "pasadena," who had some xpl200's. Maybe he is still reachable for some measurements.

Jim Henderson has also provided numerous XPL200 measurements.

Here's the URL for the owner's manual. It doesn't seem to be much help with the details of the cabinet, though it might be useful for other things. Forgive me if I'm stating the obvious, but they were sold in mirror-imaged pairs.

That is very helpful:) I was scratching my head last night trying to figure out a way to come up with this info. I would have been guessing at a lot of this.
Dave regarding the taper, I would be able to calculate it if I had a straight down view, but a perspective like in a photo at an angle, changes the relative width of the front and rear baffles and I cant interpolate. The tech sheet isnt in perspective but its not accurate enough to get a good measure.

what are these abbreviations?

G.T. - 9.5"
J.H. - 9.4375"

Is the 7.5"circle the recess on the front of the baffle for flush mounting the 115H-1? "in back of cut out" sounds like inside the dogbox to me. From what I can tell of the photos the 115h-1 doesnt look flush mounted (squared off frame)

6" diameter cutout
7.5" diameter circle 0.475" deep in back of cutout

Also I have searched the forums for "XPL" and didnt see Jims post with the measurements. If someone has the thread it would be greatly appreciated.

The baffle is made out of a sheet of hard rubber like material. This baffle is molded with a recess to fit a sheet of thinner soft foam rubber. This material seems to be the same stuff that wet suits are made from. The tweeters go in front of both layers, the frames of the tweeters flatten out the foam rubber so that they end up flush in front. The foam is trimmed around the frame of the woofer and mid bass, so that they sit flat against the baffle material.
