They're pretty much ALL set to "Disco."

None of them own JBL's, apparently. :p

WAIT! 70's and 80's.

[I get it now. Developmental arrest....]

p.s.: LOVE my elliptical oblate L222's!

I live next to an Elementary School and one of the teachers drives a light blue Pacer. I guess they still aren't paying teachers enough!

Personally I always had a soft spot for the Gremlin X.

Didn't Pioneer have a speaker called the HPM-100. I think it was Pioneer's answer to the L-100. As I recall, it was a four driver layout with a 12" woofer, a midrange, tweeter and a mylar super tweeter in a cabinet about the same size as the L-100. I remember it sounded on the dry side, much less dynamic than the L-100.

Hey I thought we got past that Pioneer stuff and moved on to baby Hemis.

The Pioneer HPMs have been discussed here before. If you do a search I bet you'll find some info. They also had a sloped baffled model that was loosely inspired by the L200.

I have to admit I do like a lot of Pioneer's industrial design and the Pioneer equipment I have owned was all very well built, long lasting, and very reliable. Unfortunately I have been compelled to sell or give it all away as none of it has sounded quite right.

Now TAD, that is a different story!

There was a time when the garage sales, flea markets and thrift stores in San Francisco and the Bay area yielded Dynaco, Fisher, Marantz, McIntosh, Thorens, Altec, JBL, Lowther, Klipsch, EV, Jensen, Scott, Pilot, Heathkit, Acrosound, Garrard, etc on almost a daily basis. (I weep for some of the stuff that trickled through my fingers.) At one point I emptied my garage, closets and basment and bought a Pioneer SA9100 and went back to school. It was indeed handsome, had major flexibility and connectivity (as it later came to be called), having even a pair of microphone preamps. But the sound was never better than blah and I finally in frustration traded it for a pair of Mark III's---=but that got me back into scouring for the old stuff.

And all that just to run a pair of HEADPHONES?

Imagine if he had some JBL's there....

That is Richard Burwen circa 1976 and he is powering some JBLs. He used JBL 2440s on 2350 horns for the mids. :D

Of course we mustn't forget his mirror lined diffraction balls which give the sound a certain sparkle.

Wow and I thought my ratio of TV to speakers was low, I especially like his custom tv stand. Looks a lot like mine.;)

TV's just a vector device. You line it up with the pole to find the "Sweet spot."

Shall I prepare a plan drawing to illustrate this procedure?

WAIT! The pole's for "Pole dancin'," OBVIOUSLY!

[Silly me....]
