Hello,

I have just purchased a pair of 4628b from a popular auction site. I bought them to join the JBL club and have picked up a 5235 crossover really cheap too. It has the 250Hz cards. I know I could mod the cards to 800Hz BUT...

These will be my main Hi-Fi in a 18' x 24' room. Can I not run the 2118 from 250 up?

Am I reading the schematic right that the 8" is NOT lo-passed? Also too the E145 is straight through?

I won't need SR SPLs but would a single 2118 work that low? The 4612 uses 2 x 2118 and gets down to 70Hz...

Loads more stuff that I want to ask but just glad to be in the club for now! I haven't even picked them up yet! Re-tuning the cab, better crossover, drivers vertical, move baffle forward to remove overhang etc

Many thanks to the JBL family.

I don't see the harm in it...we built some small/compact stage monitors using 2118's for the woofers and run them lower than that. The data sheet states that it can be used as a low frequency transducer down to about 70hz using a .5 cu ft enclosure. Does the 4628b cabinet have it mounted in a sub-enclosure?

Sorry, 4698B doesn't have a sub-enclosure for E110-8.

Why do you make 2118 work down to 250hz?in fact ,E145 can work very well up to 850HZ.:D
