so...
first time installing tee nuts...
and a rookie mistake.

:banghead:

i figured out the hard way that tee nuts need to be
tightly secured to the substrate they are attached too;
especially in a sealed box with no access panels...

:D

(it's a good thing I was going to put more holes in the box anyway ;) )

think I will be OK getting the bolt & tee nut out after i pop an additional hole
which will allow for some grip on the tee nut itself...

once i get it out.... and get ready to re-seat the things...

will a dab of epoxy, gorilla glue, blue loctite, ???

secure these things well?

I use epoxy. Take Q tip and line the thread with Vasaline first.... You dont want to get that stuff on the threads really , but If you do, just clean out the thread with the same size Tap ... I also use a C-lamp to secure the t-nut . I use it to squeeze nut into the timber - it also ensures the nut stays square to the timber .

Just my Spin on it !

Drop of epoxy and use the bolt that's meant for the nut (with a washer) to pull it into the hole. The bolt protects the threads and epoxy won't stick to the bolt. After it sets a while, just take the bolt out and you're "set". Unlike the old vintage t-nuts, these will never get loose.
