issues with chrome

what plug-ins do I need with chrome? It seems that after a reload this pc's version of chrome makes the forum look like the oldddd BBS text sites...strange.. Any suggestions for the proper plug-ins?

after trying to login via chrome I went chrome beta, no joy...you cant even login in the browser it takes you to the v-bulletin headers...wonder if this is related to that issue.

I have been using Chrome on Windows and Linux a while with no such problems.

I have not done anything active to change the Chrome configuration or add plugins, but that doesn't mean it haven't happened...

I've been on this this afternoon. Here whats weird:
I have new dual opteron 8 core 16 GB server/workstation beast eBay special with a triple boot where I loaded windows 7 ultimate, Ubuntu, and as a snow leopard Hackintosh.....On that system, chrome works perfectly in all OS's; which is where this is being written.

On the i9 iMac, it works perfectly
on the wife's HP laptop it works perfectly

On the Dell 1545 laptop, which I reloaded last night using a clean load from my win7 dell upgrade; it shows this text version, and I'm using the same beta on everything, except the mac!!

I haven't the foggiest; and I'm pretty savvy to computer tech issues, as to whats up. Worst case is I'll wait a couple of weeks and put another effort into a reload.
