Hi,
Any suggestion for a center speaker that could match the 4430 in timbre? I have installed the Klipsch surround speakers for an eventual 7.1 setup - right now, I have only 4430, plus the surround speakers (6.0 configured), the 4430s are used for the main speakers. The effect is quite good, and I am wondering if any particular of Klipsch center would match up well.

Cheers,

Consider using no center (phantom center mode). The 4430 are up to it and unless you have HT viewers watching from well off-center a center speaker might not be needed at all.

A phantom center sounds just fine. I eventually found another pair of 4430s, not too many singleton 4430 speakers floating around, so now I have 5 4430s all-around.

Yes, I am using 'phantom center' right now, being a 6.0 system (no sub, no center). I never really own a 5.x or 7.x, so I have no idea what a center could do. But I have no issue so far with no imaging problem (i.e. audio wise).

The preamp is an Onkyo Professional which allows Auddyssey correction, and I was told that Auddyssey needs 7.1 to work best. Amplifier is Nuforce MCH300SE.

I went without a center for awhile. It's OK for music only, but Dolby decodes specific center channel information and almost all dialog goes there. I built a WTW with a 2344/2426H and two 12". It makes HT a more enjoyable experience.

Sub woofers are another thing. Of course the 2235 is a great woofer but the tuning is compromised because it plays so high up. There is nothing like the impact of the LFE channel on a nice sub (Preferably 2 or more)
