Hi everyone! I am planning to build a nice house for my recent acqusitions – 2x 806A HF drivers with 811B horns and 2x 515E LF drivers. While searching the net for drawings of appropriate cabinets I got confused about cabinet model numberings. One group of sources list the models as 210, 211, 612, 816, 828 etc. Another – as A5, A7 etc. The question is – what is the relationship between these two classifications, if any at all? Thanks!

Hi, just read your thread. Don't know if you have come to any conclusions about the different cabinets. From what I gathered in the Altec cabinets, and anyone out there please correct me if I am wrong, is that the number, like the 210 cabinet, is in the A4 class or series along with the 211, in which they use the same size bass horn design. The 816, 828 cabinets are in the A7 class or series, for they use the same size bass horn design. So, to answer your question, The number for the cabinet represents the name, and the A2,4,7 etc., is the class or series it is in.
