i got this in a ham estate. i had a hunch it was a jbl so i grabbed it. after 2 years in storage i finally open the cab and am rewarded by a vintage d130. question is, how old is it?

it uses solder posts and has cloth wire on it. serial 412169, D130, 16 ohm. cab has NO markings anywhere.

Congratulations on your score. You have an early example of the cast pot D130, which was introduced in 1953 but did not receive the oval metal label surrounding the vent hole until 1956. By the serial number yours was made in 1954, twelfth week (or was it month?).

It's easy to see the Quality that went into products made long time ago that they are still around and still working!

man thats cool! glad i trusted my junk-sense to guide me right and grab this.

i'll eventually part with it as i have plenty of big speakers already. i have a masco tube amp which i have heard is the holy grail of harp amps. once i rebuild the masco, i'll pair it with this speaker and move them along so i can get some other tube toys.
