Boy, that has to be one of the weirdest designs I've ever seen! I wonder how it sounds, and how it compares to JBL's Vertec series of 3-way?

Dunno. Pretty avant-garde, for sure!! Amazing that EAW went this strong into this. Good interview article in current Lighting & Sound (America) with the senior design engineer, Nathan Butler (27)...

Man,I bet Ronnie H Rackham (Tannoy"s chief engineer 1926) is spinning in his grave over this. And he probably was working from a borrowed Western Electric co/ax design from that era.

Phase plug useage in front of the hi freq is the interesting spin. That will allow the driver to act in the different fashion as stated in the white paper.

This is a box that when used in multiples would be horrible sounding due to the interreaction of the multiple enclosures and spacing between componets. There is no comparison to this and the Vertec whatsoever.I would stick with the Vertec (although not my favorite line array)This is a two way design and most other pro applications are now three way configurations.

As a single box per side,it would sound OK.I don"t think it would be worth the money EAW would be asking for it.Wonder what the application specs are?And no I have not used this(and I"ll bet nobody ever sees one at a concert)
