Hi I have an Altec Lansing IM510 Sansa docking station which has a sub out for the BB2001 subwoofer unfortunately Altec does not make this anymore do you know of any subwoofers either singularly or in a set that have the same spec that could work.I don't want to blow my Im510 as that was hard enough to come by.I have contacted Altec but they are unable or unwilling to help.Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Mack.

Unfortunately, this is mostly a fan site, and is not connected to the company currently making products under the Altec Lansing name. Most of the Altec Lansing owners here are knowledgable of the older Altec gear of the 80s and earlier. Generally, large wooden speakers and such.

I gather this is a plastic type speakers system for an MP3 player?
Ah - I googled it and found this:

http://www.alteclansing.com/im510-inmotion-portable-speakers-for-sansa.html

Looks like your best bet would be to contact Altec Lansing directly for any problems with this unit.

Ahh - google found me a review of the so-called Subwoofer -

http://www.macworld.com/reviews/product/413455/review/bb2001_subwoofer.html thanks for the reply I know this speaker is a bit mickey mouse compared to what you are used to but I have contacted Altec who can't help.Because I know little of speakers etc I was anxious about connecting a similar subwoofer to my IM510 without knowing the consequenses.I was hoping for some advice as speaker/amplifier issues large or small must hopefully follow the same rules.thanks again.Mack.
