- If you can obtain a LE14H-3 recone kit , don't waste it by putting it into a 2217 basket .

- The 2217 has a different magnetic assembly compared to the le14H-3 .
- The 2217 has a deeper gap at .32 inches / compared to .28 inches for the top-plate of the LE14H-3

- The 2217 magnetic assembly seems to be derived from that of the 2226 / while the le14H-x series of woofers have magnetic assemblies derived from that of the older 2225 .

<> cheers :)

But can it works because JBL 2217h have VGC system for better cooling.
This is only about the Ohm, if the gap is thicker on 2217h basket they will show my wrong Ohm.

The LE-14 is a 4" voice coil, I'm not sure about the 2217 but think it is 3".

They both have 4" coils. The issue is that the gaps are different in each motor asside from what Earl has already mentioned. Bottom line is they are not interchangeble like a 2231/2235/2225 because they use different motors.

I guess I should have searched and checked before posting.
