Hello. I am new to these Forums. I have a question regarding JBL speakers.
I recently acquired a pair of JBL 4311 studio monitors. The drivers are original and are in fine shape acoustically but on removing the grills I found a sticky, resinous substance "bleeding" from the bottom of the woofers. It has run down the front surface of the speakers and on one, has gotten on to the grill cloth. I am wondering if this problem is common on vintage loudspeakers, and is there a solvent can I use to clean it without damage to the speakers or cloth? Thank you for any help that you can give. Jim
