Perhaps it's a 2 ohm speaker? I know that the 130F-6 is a 16 ohm speaker so maybe this is the case?

Tony Lowe took over the JBL MI department after I left, so I don't know what all the different add on stuff means. Try putting an ohm meter across the speaker terminals and see what the DC resistance is.

driver not intended for low-voltage/max-current operation (automobile).
