Can a Ipod be hooked up using digital straight into the XLR inputs of behringer crossover ?

ULTRADRIVE PRO DCX2496 Ultra High-Precision Digital 24-Bit/96 kHz Loudspeaker Management System

3 analog inputs (one suitable as digital stereo AES/EBU input) and 6 analog outputs for maximum flexibility

hi!

i know NOTHING about the ipod but i do have two DCX 2496: they want AES3 but sometimes accept SPDIF also, that means it depends on the device giving ot the SPDIF =its not always the same voltage.
dont know what the 'pod can do? never even touched one :)
if it does SPDIF just give it a try!

cheers,
mikey

Where do you tap digital out on the iPod?
It can't stream digital out like you'd want to do ...

LOL basically what, Mikey is saying he won’t touch an ipod with a 10 foot barge pole.:p

As to the digital input I’ve not given it much thought. Does it require and extra black-box to convert the signal as there are only three pins on the XLR.

I have digital output on the AVR thou something tells me that won’t send the left centre right output to the DCX2496 just plan basic 2 channel stereo.

I'd have to read though the manual see what it says.

Edit:I can’t find a clear answer in the manual.

I guess you can use the phone jack output connected to XLR plugs and plug them into the XLR inputs.

if you stick this in the middle:

then it would appear you might.

Really - you know about iPods now? Sheesh - please give it a rest!
No doubt, you STILL don't have the data cable connected to the Behringer,
and now you're going to babble on about digital music players ...

Un-believable ...!

You should stick to the laser discs and waterfall charts

Hey your the lady. :p

Hey I don’t even have an ipod myself its all news to me.

It’s just another means of storing recorded data information.

I have an mp3 player 2GB only. Its a "iKasij" if I've pronounced the name correctly.
