Where can I find an owners/instruction manual for setting up the L212? Just bought a set but no manual. One would like to think that hookup and all would be pretty straight forward and self-explainatory BUT as in all of life that could be the wrong assumption.

Anyway, any ideas?

Thanks

There's not much to it. The Ultrabass is designed for parallel connection to your amp's Lt and Rt speaker outputs. So you can take separate speaker cables to the Ultrabass, or take the Lt-Rt off the Ultrabass. The Ultrabass module presents about a 300u load to the amp, which is insignificant.

The satellites have a 70Hz high-pass filter built in, Ultrabass has a 70Hz low-pass filter.

The high-pass in the satellites is acoustic only, a I recollect.

As to physical placement, JBL has shown that the 3-ways can be placed in the corners @ 45* angles, or out well away from the walls, which is what I prefer. The sub should be somewhere along the front, just depends on the room.
The house I had at the time I bought the L212 system, I had to place the sub in the front corner to get good bass, as the shape of the room produced bad standing waves, a with any other placement cancelled out the low frequencies.

Hey, thanks for the information. I got them set up and running. Just curious though, is there a place on the site (or off site for that matter) to copy off an owners manual?

Thanks again, Kim

There used to be. I downloaded it to my old desktop computer. But when Harman updated their web site many, if not all, info on old systems went to never, never land.
And I can't access that download as that desktop is about 3000 miles away, and in storage.

Harman still offers these OMs for download ( from the JBL Home site ) .

CLICK HERE ! ( for the L212 page ) (http://www.jbl.com/EN-US/Products/Pages/ProductSupportDetails.aspx?PID=L212)

Earl K Thanks for the link. I have been to the JBL site before but just didn't realize they still had documentation for these. I appreciate it.
