factory reject tweeters

I have a pair of L100S's which never sounded right. I was getting ready to try a different crossover on them when i noticed that the tweeters were wired backwards according to the wiring symbols. This is supposed to be impossible since the spades are male/female specific. After checking my L100T's I realised that the spades were installed backwards at the factory on the S's tweeters.

Crazy!
