I use the remember me option when I log in but the forum is not doing it. It is not a cookie problem because I have many other forums that do remember me. And some of them are running vBulletin. Don't know what versions, though.

Try ; logging in,

then ; logging out, ( this trashes all old cookies , so I'm told )

then finally ; log in , one last time ( hopefully ) .

- This should fix the cookie "double-clutch" caused by old & new versions of software .

> cheers

No go. When I logged out I got the message that cookies were deleted. Closed IE 8. Opened IE 8 and logged in and checked the remember me box. Then just closed IE 8. Opened again and went to this site. It had not remembered me.

I found a cookie, donald@audioheritage[2], from March. Deleted that. Still not remembering me. After I logged out and the site told me cookies were deleted I found one still around. [email protected][2] Deleting it still did not help.

From what I can tell, all of the login problems in this thread, including the most recent reported issue of not staying logged into the site are apparently related to cookies. I have implemented a new recommended fix and the login issues are no longer occuring for me.

However, for the new fix to work, all old cookies have to be cleared. On IE8, there is an extra step that you have to take. Go to "Tools" on the menu bar and click "Options". Click the "Delete" button under the "General" tab. For the dialog box that opens, ensure that checkbox in front "Preserve Favorites Website Data" is cleared. Ensure that the checbox in front of "Cookies" is checked. Then hit "Delete" at the bottom.

make sure you log yourself on the http://www.audioheritage.org/ address, and not http://audioheritage.org/
I had to change my bookmarks

This shouldn't be an issue any more. This morning I made a change to the cookie settings that should allow access from either domain. So far its working on the three different computers I have access to. However, as I stated here (http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?28441-Forum-not-remembering-me&p=286496&viewfull=1#post286496), you have to clear your cookies and then login for the change to take effect.

Thank you Don and pos, I followed your advice and the forum now remembers me. Thank you Don and the others for this upgrade.

Scotty.

I didn't do anything and when I enter the site it doesn't show my name but as soon as I hit "What's New?" It shows all new posts within their threads and all of a sudden it knows I'm me!

Yeah! The old color is back! :applaud:

Thanks to all who keep the ship afloat.

Not wanting to become unknown by my bank site, credit card site, etc, etc I did not delete all cookies. I used my fav utility, ZTreeWin, to directly access the cookie folder and deleted all cookies named *audio*.* This I had done before. But I also corrected my shortcut to the forums. I feel so special because now I am remembered. :applaud:

Well this is going to sound weird. I logged out and then went back to the main page. Yet I was still logged on. I refreshed the page in case it was an error and I’m still logged in?

Guess I have to delete those yummy cookies manually huh.:p

[QUOTE=BMWCCA;286605]I deleted nothing and didn't dump the cache. All I had to do was to click "What's New?" and I was logged in, I then logged out, and logged in again. From that point I've been logged in automatically every time I've visited.

No, that is not right. Something’s strange?

Ted: Strange things are afoot at the Circle-K.:D

Well Don, did say report anything strange and this is not how it was over a week ago. Its as if things are, back-to-front. :D
