Nice! Are they 4408A's or 4408'? I have their big brothers, 4412's, and have had 4410's as well. Enjoy!

original 4408, with the walnut wood enclosure and blue grille.

This is my first set of the titanium tweeters. I have L-65As in my living room. These will be the 'bedroom' set.

The woofers should probably be refoamed.

Any idea what I should expect to pay for someone to do the pair?

Evening, Brad,

I think you will really like the 4408's. I found mine at a yard sale. They were missing their woofers, and grills, and the cabs were a tad dinged up, here and there. But, for the asking price of just $1, I could not pass them up!! I found a pair of 116H drivers on the 'Bay, had them reconed, and VOILA, worked like a champ. Unfortunately, for one reason, or another, the recone was not the best, and one of the woofers eventually bit the dust. But, as luck would have it, I found an almost brand new pair of 116H woofs, and they await being used in the 4408's. Once we got our L300's, however, the 4408's have languished downstairs in the Hobbit Hole. Someday, I'll get them back to snuff. But, I'm fairly sure you will very much enjoy yours, Sir! Great buy, and a very nice small speaker that sounds much "bigger" than it is! Congrats, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

Thanks, Doc!

I hope to have a pair of L-300s one day. Right now I am making do with L-65As in the living room and soon these 4408s in the bedroom.

There are so many things I'd use $3k for before speakers. But one day...

Anyway, as requested, here's a pic. You can see through the grille on the left that I've already removed the 116H. It needs refoaming badly. I'll have the pair done, I just haven't gotten around to removing the other one yet. You can even see the crossover peeking through the grille if you look closely.

I also already removed the multitude of $29 price tags slathered all over the whole pair. :D

I like the little stands that came with them. I assume they're homemade, but the veneer on them matches the veneer on the cabs pretty well. Anyway, they'll come in handy to get them off the floor in the bedroom.
