Hi guys,
Well there is a lot of us here that bought the sub1500 from PE. I really like the pair I bought.
:)
But I was wondering if anyone had experience with the LE14H-3 14" Aquaplas, that is used in the Performance Series. How do they compare?

I'm not sure about the LE14H-3, but the LE14H has an Fs of 26 compared to the Fs of 21 for the Sub1500, an Xmax of 8.38 compared to 16.25 for the Sub1500, and a power rating of 150 watts compared to 800 watts for the Sub1500. I'm not sure how different the H3 is from the H. No idea on distortion parameters either...

Which is better....?

In general I am not a believer in more money equals better sound. Frequently it is true, but there are countless examples where it doesn't hold.

That said, Harman International originally designed and sold the Sub1500 in the Revel Ultima Sub 15. This subwoofer was sold for between $3K and $4K depending on finish. This was a passive sub that required a $6K equalizer/amplifier. Harman is currently selling the LE14H-3 in the JBL PS1400. This subwoofer with amp sells for $1600.

While the Revel Ultima Sub 15 might not be worth the additional $7400-$8400, I imagine one could safely say that they are not in the same league. Sure a big part of the difference is in the amplification of the two systems, but looking at the drivers alone there really is no comparison either.
