Hi all. I picked up some old speakers from my 80+ year old neighbor who was cleaning out his garage. I paid $100 and think I got a good deal. The problem is that they are 3 times the size of my existing JBL speakers. Anyways, I want to know if I would be better off selling them as a pair or parting them out on Ebay? Any advice would be helpful. Do the boxes they are in look OK? I'm thinking they're a bit to plain and maybe not worth the cost of shipping.

Have you fed them any music yet?
That would be the real test of a speaker - do YOU like the way they sound?

I have one connected in my living room instead of my smaller JBL's. These are definitely a great speaker. BIG! 15" driver.... Huge! More than I'm used too. Probably better suited for events or a band.

If I wanted to put the D130F's, N2400's & 075's in a different box are there any kits available that these components would fit in and sound good in? I think the existing boxes are to big and not attractive.

Kits?

Not likely these days... there used to be.

Too big?

Well... those big 15" woofers need a fairly significant volume to work in properly. Here is a guide to what is needed. Your speakers would require design #6.

These speakers with a bit of bass boost (EQ) and a decent amp will actually sound pretty good. A number of us have enjoyed these "030" systems.

Cool - once you spend time listening to 15s, you may find them addictive!
