Sunshine on speakers?

Does it hurt in any way? My Array's have the afternoon sunshine coming in from the west and hitting the speakers...should the grills be put on?
On a pair of Infinty Kappa 8.1's and the RS8 Kappa's I have, the sunlight seem to 'yellow' the polydome mid.:blink:

UV exposure hurts everything. Foam will rot quicker, veneer and cloth will fade, cones will fade, paint will fade. It's bound to happen over time.

For the most part it will be aesthetic or otherwise repairable soft parts but there is no doubt over a number of years there will eventually be some impact.

Maybe you could apply a UV film over the offending window.

No direct sunlight anywhere near any transducers.

Swap the 2 speakers regularly. I've had it peel off the poly laminate they use on speakers instead of veneer too.

Evening,

Our L300's apparently sat in the sun during part of their lifetimes, and one speaker grill is faded compared to the other one. Also, some of the wood edges on top really needed some Howard's, or Watco Danish oil, as those were a bit faded, too. Once they soaked up some of the good stuff, though, they looked much better. Best to keep all speakers, and all electronic goodies out of the sun, IMHO. Take care, and God Bless!
