Hi folks,

I'm a vintage JBL pro & Altec passionate and I was looking since a long time for 4825A Concert Series (Compact Bi-radial speaker system). I found a pair and bought them a few days ago.

I only got the picture and the seller couldn't tell me which model it was nor the serial,...

4825A specs : http://www.jblpro.com/pub/obsolete/Concert_Series.pdf
---------------
2206H 12"
2426H 1" compression driver
2344A Bi-Radial’”constant-Coverage horn

When I received the speakers I got something like huuum these aren't 12" woofers.

I opened it and indeed instead of the 2206H 12", there is a 2123H 10" inside and instead of the 2426H I got a 2416H 1" compression driver. The horn is the same.

I thought the guy replaced the 12" with a cheaper 10" but the 10" fits perfectly the enclosure.

I searched in the JBL archives but couldn't find this speaker :banghead:

I'm 100% sure this is an 100% JBL enclosure and it looks 100% like the 4825A. Is it a "smaller" version of the 4825A ?

I tested them they really rocks and sound really fine but yes the power is lower of course (2206 H = 600W continuous and the 2123H = 250W continuous.

Does anyone got an idea of which model it is ?

Thx a lot for your answers and your time !!

Tom

Please note that the horn is a 2342 (9" x 9"), rather than the 2344 which is about 12" x 12", and is modified with the ports behind the butt cheeks.

Hey Thx also Don,

You're right, I took a closer look at it, indeed it's a 9" with the ports behind the butt cheeks.

Thx :)
