I understand that there are no replacement cones for these woofers anymore, yet beater units needing cones sell on ebay for fairly big money. What gives? Is there some secret way to fix these up and make them work again? Or do they simply become a shelf fetish item.

If so I would love to know, because I have one with a little edge damage & would like to make it right.

Do a search of the forum here, I think that this was discussed recently, and there were some kits available.

I know someone who has 12 sets of nos recone kits. I could ask him if he wants to sell and forward his number to you.

I apologise. I had said that you should do a search, but when I did a search myself, I did not find the information that I remembered seeing.
Here is the thread that I remembered.

Unfortunately, the useful posts that discussed the availability of the 150-4C kits have been deleted from the thread. I don't know why.

I remember that thread before the pertinent posts were deleted. The 150-4C recones were definitely avaialable and in stock at JBL at that time.

OCS should be able to set you up with the C16R1504C.
It shows as being in stock.
