I just bought a pair of JBL studio monitors today. They each have an inbuilt JBL SE408S power amplifier.

The monitors have the following drivers:
2405 tweeters
LE175 drivers on 1217-1290 potato masher horns
D140R bass drivers
PR15 passive radiators

Very nice teak cabinets and a very compact design, just enough to fit the drivers.

What are they called?

They have been in a studio at the national Danish Radio since new.

I will post pictures later

Vern

500hz would be on the low side for LE175 DHL.
JBL did offer the SE408S as an option on many speakers of that era.
Pictures will help!

So they really are a set of Olympus S7R but with D140R instead of LE15a.

Mine seem to have been the same as yours and in 1975 the 2405 tweeters have been added and crossovers changed for 3110 and 3105. A label at the back says this.

I have been playing them for a while now with just a H/K Citation Eleven preamp driving the JBL S408S amplifiers in them. Very nice sound.

Pictures will come SOON
