So....I have an Integra dhc80.1, running Audessey MultEQ XT Dolby Pro Logic IIz, and have a pair of cm52 control 1's; and they have some just discernible vc rub in the woofer. And was using these for the high left right speakers in the 9.2 system

I haven't called JBL pro, but given the news they are not selling parts for older speakers, does anyone know if they can provide parts for the cm52 (a 5" woofer).

I'm tempted by this Tang band woofer http://www.parts-express.com/pdf/264-872s.pdf

does anyone know of a source for this woofer ; or better the specs to find a replacement, as without them the sound with a tang band woofer replacement would be an unknown.

:hmm:...Have you tried rotating 180 degrees already to see if that might help...It is not a repair but if it makes a difference...;) YMMV

I've seen one guy post that assertion here a few times without any cite to back it up. On the other hand, I have just purchased parts and services from an authorized (and respected) JBL service center to re-cone a pair of 2245H (discontinued, older drivers).

JBL may not have all parts for all older speakers, and they may indeed quit selling parts for all I know, but as of a few days ago they were still servicing some older equipment.

I'd drop them a call before resorting to the Tang. Unless you simply prefer the Tang.

ETA: Looks like the repair kit is listed (http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Transducers%20Parts%20List/Transducer%20Parts%20List.pdf) on the parts list dated February 16, 2010 - #C1003 $38.00

the 1003 is a 5.25" woofer for the control 1 go to amerisponse.com to see a cm52 woofer at 53.00 each, BTW its a 5" woofer:
http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Control%20Series/Control%201Pro-WH.pdf control 1 link
http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/HOM/Technical%20Sheet/CM52%20ts.pdf cm52 link
http://www.amerisponse.com/JBL_Spare_Parts_Pricelist.htm cm52 woofer link

what I'd really like would be the correct specs for the cm52 , so if needed I pick the logical replacement; as I hate to spend 53 on a woofer, the two sets I have cost me 73 total....

besides the Tang looks like a much beefier replacement

That second link has the LF listed as 5 1/4", too. Sorry for the confusion. I wasn't familiar with the different driver numbers, I thought the LF speaker kit for a Control 1 was what you were needing.

I wish! JBL Pro sent me to their "home" division...sounds like the kiss of death.
and then they weren't open at the advertised hours...
