If any of you kind gentlemen can provide some insight into this, I'd appreciate it. One of the 2214H's (Pro) I purchased has a badly dented dustcap, but is in otherwise excellent condition.

I called JBL Pro Parts and they only have one part number for their version of the 2214H, which I'm sure is the 3" dustcap as that's what they came with. He told me I'd have to call the NY office or go the website. The website for parts only has the complete woofer.

Anybody have a P/N for the 4" dustcap and a phone number for this? Man, I flogged the Pro site and found the 4425 data and the home site for the tech data on the L-100T, but no dustcap number!

21060-MS Dust dome spares $2.25

Is this the number you have? Doesn't say the size.

...because that wasn't the PN the Pro guy gave me. It was a 33535 or something like that. Not like that one at all, so that must be the home version (4" I hope). I'll call JBL NY tommorow. Thanks for the help!

Speaking of smart asses - JBL just sent me some replacement 2121 dust caps in a padded envelope. Three guesses as to their condition upon arrival.

Regis, I just refoamed a pair of 2214H and put new dustcaps on them. I took the speaker to OCS and they couldnt come up with the same size cap and suggested I use the one a size up. After preparing the speaker I think I found out why. When I removed the other caps, the cone continues down to about a one inch vent at the center, most of the speakers I reconed the cap goes to the width of the voice coil and the pole piece is uncovered. On this speaker I couldnt clean off the old part of the cap on the cone without damaging the cone so I went a size up and covered the other cone remnants(about 1/4inch over). Also if you havent removed the cap yet, because the cone extends below the cap glue, you have to be careful to cut shallow or parallel to the cone surface or the best of both not to cut the cone underneath. I didnt know that but got lucky on the first one I opened.

... Giskard for the P/N's. I'll go with the 4"rs and the safe route as Andre has. The woofers are on their way and since it was an Ebay purchase, what I've started doing is not only checking the feedback, but looking at what exactly the seller has shipped. So far, so good as this guy has shipped 32" TV's, big Guitar Amps and other heavy but delicate items. Then I go a step further and ask them to pack it very carefully.

Hello.

And one year at me stand JBL L220, without speakers. The box with speakers was lost it is not known where. Who can prompt my where I can buy 2х LE14-h and 2х PR15D. Thank if who that will help.

With best regards Podkin Sergei.

127A (inverted)
127H (inverted)

Hope this helps...

Respectfully....I don't think these drivers had an inverted dustcap. Only when using the C8R127A to recone a 125A. Not trying to 'dis the master.

They didn't. I've posted numerous times the orientation of the 125 versus 127. What? Did I post it backwards one time?

Looking back through the thread I cut and pasted that list and didn't proofread it. Imagine that! :p

I'll send the link to a moderator to fix. Thanks for the heads up!

Unfortunately...not too much surprises me anymore. In fact, it's surprising when things regularly go right:( .
