I've found an E130 for sale near me very cheap, sold as needing a recone. This is what the seller told me:

It was working fine in my bass cabinet and i plugged a pa head in to test the head and a very loud hum came out of it. When i played my bass through it later that night it sounded very scratchy.

It sounds like the voice coil isn't open. Any chance that something else blew and the E130 is fine?

not likely.

the voice coil took a bunch of dc voltage, the copper flat wire voice coil got hot and blistered the former and is now rubbing in the magnetic gap.

A recone is a must.

The E130 basket can be reconed as a 130, 0r 140. Also it can be reconed as a 2225, 2235 but has a different thickness of ferrite magnet top plate and will give different results. We call this a "franken-woofer."
