Bubbling Veneer

One of my recently acquired 4430's has a fairly prominent bubble in the top veneer, about 2-3" long. It looks like they have never been oiled and may have been exposed to moisture at some time.

Has this happened to anyone? I am pondering how best to try fixing it or maybe just leave it alone.
