Hi Folks,

I have a rather silly question. Due to the 375 placement, which is left and which is right? Do we want the horns in close or outside?

Thanks,
Rich

This will depend upon the size of your room, the distance between the cabinets, distance from the side walls and whether or not you use any toe-in or have the cabinets flush against the back wall. In any case, the configuration should be mirror-imaged, i.e., both cabinets with the 375 horns to the outside or inside. The decision should be based upon the best sounding stereo image, bass response, etc.

Thanks. They are mirrored, with no toe. I was looking for a "rule". Right now they are to the outside. I'd guess there's about a cabinet and a half between the two, if not more like a full two cabinets.

P.S. For the Olympus S8R, the 375 is centred on the baffle; it's the 075 ring radiator that is offset: http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=26876&highlight=S8R

I suspect people set the 075 to the outside for the widest soundstage, however wall reflections or nearfield room obstructions could dictate that the sound would be better with the 075s to the inside. Experiment and find out which you prefer.

Thanks. I did in fact mean the 075 bullet, and not the 375.

Imaging has always been good with them on the outside. I just got to wondering about it, and then I may have seen a photo with the 375's more centered...which got me going.

Thanks!
