I found a SRX728S that I am considering purchasing, primarily for the drivers. The 2268H contained therein are said to be a more linear driver than a 2245H. I would intend to put them in a ported box with a low tuning and use them as subs up to around 125 Hz..

However, when I looked at the data sheet for the SRX728S (http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/SRX700%20Series/SRX728S.pdf), I found myself scratching my head...

JBL Recommends:

HPF at 80 Hz - 24 db/octave

AND

LPF at 80 Hz = 24 db/octave

Now mind you, I will not be using the drivers in SR, but rather home HiFi, but the crossover recommendations confuse the hell out of me.. Looking at the data sheet for the 2268H (http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=11346) and it's 33 Hz Fs, I am guessing this is a SR Sub and not a good candidate for a HiFi sub like the 2245H was.. correct? It sounds more like a 2241 or 2242...

I already have a pair of 2245H a pair of 2241H and a 2042H.

Would these really be worth the real estate?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

The driverack settings for the SRX 728 are as follows (I install a lot of these)
LPF Butterworth 18dB/octave at 30Hz
HPF Linkwitz-Riley 48dB/octave at around 80-90Hz depending on other speakers.

Maybe it's just a misprint.. ? That is a reasonable range..

Yes,it's definitely a misprint. Check on the JBL website for the tunings of the SRX line, you will have everything you need ;)
