I have an 802 driver that one of the 2 mounting bolts snapped off even with the driver case. Does anyone know if this is a single threaded insert or a bolt with the head in the casing.
Is it posible to use a screw extractor to remove the embedded thread and replace it?
Thanks you.

The bolt is really a stud without a head.
Anyway, this happened to me also. I drilled the busted stud out using a drill press. If you can file the busted stud flat it helps. Use a tap to mark the center of the stud helps too.
Use a new small drill that is extra sharp. You can prep it by using some liquid wrench.
I found a replacement from the Depo store; take the busted stud and with you and match it up.

Make sure you cover the throat with tape before you start drilling.....

Thanks!
I was hoping that it was a stud. I have a set of srew extractors that should work just fine. I just found a supply of stock copy binding posts and fixed a few that were missing posts.
Now I can get on with my modified dual 15" Altec driver JBL scoop cabinets. I wanted it as factory as I could get it. :applaud:
