Picked up a pair of 4312a's from epay for 340.00 us..........they look almost new. What do I need to check when I pick these up tomorrow?

I'm going to put these where the l300's were while I tear them down for a rebuild.

Nice score!

Given the surround style in these monitors, not too much to worry about there. I'd say a quick look at the drivers for any obvious damage, and a spin of the L-pads to check for good contact, and you should be in business.

The speaker itself is just a work of art as are my l300's when there in great shape. Can you still get the white cone kit?

I don't really follow the market for these, but it certainly doesn't seem like a bad price to me.

One of the tweets looks a little dented in the pic. I've "pulled" soft domes before, but never Ti, so not sure what the best approach there is; a quick search on the forum will probably net some suggestions.

I think it looks like they'll be an excellent stand-in while you get your L300's back up to snuff!

Let us know what you think once they're delivered and you've had a chance to give them a solid run.

Damn, you maybe right.......that would suck! But hopefully not something that cant be fixed. I'm calling her in the morning and we're going to meet at lunch. She only lives 20 minutes from my place which saved me 60.00 in shipping.

Sorry, I corrected it above for posterity. My eyes read "4312A" but my brain always converts it to "4412A". Would that it would be that easy...

As Mike pointed out, that tweeter may make sound but I'd want to replace it eventually. You probably can't fix it, but you can try.

Good luck.

Quite OK - sometimes when I look at my E30's, my brain converts it to L300. Would it were that easy indeed! ;)

Well, there always seem to be singles or pairs from parted-out L60T, etc, on Ebay all the time. 035Ti is a fairly common tweeter.

Thanks to everyone for the reply's, I'm real excited about picking them up tomorrow. I'll send some pics in the afternoon after I give them a good oiling.

You know its funny I started off yesterday searching for a passive sub for my peavey cs800 amp. It had to match my l300 cabinets, in the process I ran across the 4312's on Ebay with only an hour to go. After 20 minutes of study I decided that my high bid would be 350.00. After more studying, if everything is in order with these,I think I might have made a great deal.

I probably wouldnt have bought these if I hadn't joined the site a week or so ago to figure out what to do with the l300's. Thanks again.

Tread carefully, my friend - it's an extremely slippery slope! ;)

Best o' luck tomorrow!
