What are the sound and application differences of these two drivers? Crossover and sound. These would be used with cone drivers, 2123 and Audax PR170M0.

2404 is a ring radiator, similar in concept to a compression driver, whereas the 035 is a classic dome tweeter.
The 2404 will play much louder (much greater sensitivity, and also power handling) and will also have a better control of the directivity (100°x100° constant), whereas the 035 will maybe be more "delicate" and play a bit higher (especially compared to a 2404-1) but will beam at high frequencies.

The 035 can be crossed over lower (as low as 2khz in some designs) but power handling and distortion will suffer.
The 2404 cannot be crossed lower than maybe 6khz (approx) and will suffer more rapidely if crossed lower because of the loss of the horn loading down low.

Neither of them is really a match for a 2123 wich is better crossed over at 2khz max, and has a high sensitivity...
You would better start looking for a compression driver such as a 2426 for exemple

I was going to use the 2123 and the Audax together. Crossing between the two at 1000 Hz. I was going to run the Audax up to 3500 - 5000 Hz.

Oh I see, sorry.
The 2404 looks like a better match given its sensitivity.

Gold sound also had a design with a 2404 over a 8":

I WISH someone had that schematic.
