Has anyone seen this yet?

http://www.jbl.com/en-US/Pages/home.aspx

Lord help us, Harman has "updated" the JBL website. Now it is completely useless, no way to find the product pages for any of the older models, or even current series pages. The product search is FUBAR too.

Please let them know how you feel about this new website. :banghead:

Performance Series is gone. The Studio L Series is hidden behind the almost invisible page 2 link.

Fortunately, the list of Links in this site (http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=10) that Techbot created that point to Consumer crossovers and such at the Harman site are still working ...

Thank you, 4313B!!

I always used to go through the support page to look up older models, but no longer. :( I think we're looking at the finished product, but I hope I'm wrong. Basically nothing in that database but current models. :dont-know

Well...:(okay......how about we all start a systematic download and archive of all the information that may disappear. Does anyone know if it would be possible to set up an archive of tech sheets, specs, vintage product info, etc., on this site?

Does anyone know if it would be possible to set up an archive of tech sheets, specs, vintage product info, etc., on this site?In addition to the Library: http://www.lansingheritage.org/

We have this section which has more useful technical data than JBL ever had on any of their public websites.

Yes, thanks and great. However, as an example, a large number of network schematics are not archived here. I am wondering if there is a chance our access to the JBL listing could disappear? If not, no problem. But if yes, can we add them now? I note that no new posts are possible under techbot's post.

True, and used a lot by me. But there are many, many models not included there/here that were available from the JBL support page. Owner's manuals, basic specs, etc., all gone. :(

I don't really ever use their site so I don't actually know what I have been missing, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were not still populating the new site with more info.

I'd suggest everyone interesting in more support for older product and more info in general send Harman an e-mail and see if that doesn't help. Marketing people are usually willing to do what it takes to keep their customer base happy when it doesn't cost them anything.

If anyone here has an ear at Harman/JBL, even gaining access to all those older product pages would be a huge plus, and they could be archived here or somewhere. I'd guesstimate that hundreds of product pages and owner's manuals have been lost.

No bookshelf speakers ...

No floorstanders ...

If you miss the old site so much, see if you can still shift through the archives.

The directory structure for all the product literature is the same as it has always been.

Perhaps they've temporarily removed read access to the general public for some reason.

Synthesis has had its own site for a while, apparently:

http://www.jblsynthesis.com/

GTI is MIA as current product.

And the mystery center channel in Flash here is?

Old site, JBL.com, is back up. :applaud:

Someone with more time than sense should start archiving all the product pages and owner's manuals.

Hi there,

No this site I keep getting an error code Server Error '/' application

http://www.jbl.com/EN-US/Products/Pa...D=speakers_cat (http://www.jbl.com/EN-US/Products/Pa...D=speakers_cat)

Next question is there a current JBL online sales web page that has their K2 products by any chance?

Many thanks, Tim.

Looking at the new site/floorstanders, the only current model they don't show is the K2 9900.
The LS series is now listed on the N.A. site for the first time. Although, when you click on "where to buy" the pull down does not have the LS series listed. Guess Harman is still trying to figure out where they can sell the LS, if not through Synthesis dealers.

Well, I saved a lot of what I need but there are no vintage systems listed on the available JBL consumer site any more. I was trying to link to the L7 owner's manual for someone and I can't find a link. Anyone know someone at JBL they could ping and get that old stuff back up before they trash it for good?

fu%ked up beyond all repair! :rotfl:

I do like the bookshelf range of JBL.:)

What type of crossover filter is being applied? Is it Butterworth or Linkwitz-Riley?

I don't think the old links work either, so that stuff may really be gone for good. :( It staggers my mind to think of the mountains of info lost.

I tried a few popular website crawlers to use to download everything while it was still up, but none of them could get the drop-down lists and links.:banghead:

I can access all tech links listed on LH and I just found an old link to the L7 supplement here that still works on Harman.com: http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/HOM/Owner%27s%20Manual/L7%20om%20Supplement.pdf

So they still exist, which is why I asked if anyone can put in a word to JBL to give us access again.

FWIW, some limited info on older models is turning up in the support pages. The old product pages are gone, but some manuals are now available.

Nothing works. Not the links in the systems listed, and not the search for systems not listed. Sucks.

I found manuals and some brochures. 250ti, etc. Looks like they are manually creating a whole new database. How dumb is that? Lost are all the old product images and descriptions unless they plan to keep adding them over time. The Flash crap they have running the site is piss poor.
