Greetings...

I have a vintage set of 4333's that were in a scoring stage for a LONG time..Taken out of service and stored for a longer time.. and now they are home with me.

I have all the components, and they sound amazing!

I would like to find the cabinet drawings.. and the detail so I can have grills built.

Thanks
Mike

You've caught me in the middle of backups, and swapping hard drives, etc. Not sure what exact detail I've got, but I'll check back & see if I can supplement whatever others will post.

Where are you in CA?

I have a couple 43XX clone cabinets with grills that you can either measure or buy, minus components. I'm in the Tustin area of Orange County.

I'd not separate them. Could have them for $75/pr sans components.

Grill sitting next to 4425. They need new cloth, but the frames are fine and should fit your cabinets.

The grills are 28-1/2" Tall x 22-1/4" Wide x 3-3/8" Deep

Yes, $75 for grills and cabinets.

It's a '64 coupe restomod that I've had >25 years and did the restoration ~3 years ago. I also added a 5-speed OD transmission.

The grilles will be a great model for my carpenter.. and Micah will be happy playing with the cabinets.

SO... do I spy 4430's? are those for sale as well?

Thanks
Mike

Yes, Micah saw them when he was here.

I hadn't considered selling them, but may be open to a reasonable offer. I just had the woofers refoamed by OCS a couple months ago. ;)

Morning, Todd,

How are you enjoying your three-ways, now that you've had a chance to listen to them for a while? They turned out very nicely, I'm thinking! Take care, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

Better.

The expanded cabinet (~3/4 cu ft) helps with the bass response and the Yamaha no longer reports these speakers as "small." It also puts the tweeters at a more ideal height.

The slots gives me a couple dB more than the rings in the ~8-9 kHz range partially filling in a dip, adding a little more "air," and smoothing the response through this range. This adds vocal intellegability and makes things such as ride cymbols pop a little more.

The longer, coated, horns go a little lower than the short horns and maybe better blend the mids to the woofer (though I think I still prefer the LE175 through this range).

The modded L200s have a more natural, open sound (the 2420s have tangential diaphragms and the magnets were recharged) with better, smoother high end and tighter bass (with one port plugged) than the 4430s. But the 4430s still image better.

Hi, Todd,

Sounds good! (pun intended) ;):D I'm very glad that you like the results of your long experiment, and that things have turned out as satisfactory as they have. One of these days, Sweet Bride and I will have to drop over again, and listen to the "new system"! :)

Thanks for letting me know how you like it. Take care, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

Don't have..., but will keep my eyes open for you. The drivers are fairly common but the butt cheek and especially a crossover are the harder parts to find

The horn proper is a 2344 and the driver 2445H

I have NO IDEA the P/N for the X over

Driver should be a 2425H and these are fairly common and relatively inexpensive (<$100). The diaphrams are also fairly reasonable relative to the the aluminum models. I've already bought and installed four of these drivers on butt cheek replicas in my front and rear surrounds.
