I am trying out a pair of Audio Nirvana (http://www.commonsenseaudio.com/nirvana.html) 15" full range drivers. I have them in an open baffle and they sound great! The designer of the speakers has cabinet plans for his speakers. The most popular cabinet is the 5.6 (pictured below). The following is a quote from him:

" You may be interested to know that the 5.6 is a variation on a classic Altec design called the 'Stonehenge III'. However, the porting and driver location on that speaker were wrong. As with most 'modern' speakers, Altec attempted to go for the absolute lowest bass possible with this cabinet. They totally spoiled the midbass by doing so. We redesigned it and love the results."

How are the Stonehenge III for lowest bass with the 604s? How low do they go?

Here is the Altec Catalog from 1975. In it you will find the Stonehenge III and it's rated factory specs. Hope this helps some.
