I like parts of the concept. Not sure if it works well, though.

No, have not heard it, but it looks very interesting.
The biggest problem will be the assembling I presume.

Diminished room problems, but more technical requirements.

These loudspeakers radiate LARES signals that emulate the surface boundaries of an indoor space. Early reflected energy from LARES is timed to strengthen and support the direct sound. It also maintains clarity and provides spaciousness. In addition, LARES adds lateral reflections and reverberation that envelop the audience and enrich the sound.Thank you for sharing.

This is kiddy corner from where I work, I can see it from my office. I'll try to add a shot of the front of house system system!
This array of speakers covers the law area behind the seats. The goal was to create concert hall sound outside. There are two sets of speakers in each group, one aimed straight down and the other one facing toward the back of the listening area. There is a progressive digital delay as the sound goes from front to back. There are two delay setups one is a standard delay, the other is a delay and DSP reverberation to simulate the effects of a large concert hall. The sound is excellent and concert hall effect in very good. Very amazing sound indeed. None of the speakers have any logos on them, but a guy a Church is an acoustic engineer that work on the project I'll ask him if he knows the brand of speakers.

Because the Pavilion is located in downtown Chicago, Laney opted to not use a line array and instead installed Electro-Voice's X-Array as part of the “distributed reinforcement system,” which provides direct or frontal sound, delivering clarity to the audience. “

Interesting design. I'd love to hear it one day.

I take a walk trough the park most every day, if the orchestra is rehearsing I will take a seat and listen for a while.
