Any info on the part number for the 122a-1 recone kit? The foam surround went and coils rubbed, and now we are at the state of infinite resistance. Hate when that happens.

Hello Alec

What you are looking for is the 129H kit. They may be available from JBL

Are there any after market kits? I see some for the more popular drivers.

122A (and 122A-1 which takes the same kit) are popular drivers.

C8R129H

They are currently out of stock and they are a bag of bucks.

A reconed woofer on the left. The one on the right has a merely refoamed original 122A cone.

The 129H kits are a little bit smaller in diameter, and note the cone color also. It has a touch of violet.

The C8R129 is listed as the replacement kit for the 122A and 122A-1. The C8R126 is NLA.

C8R128H $181.60
C8R128H-1 $176.53
C8R129 $195.64

Thanks for posting this. Nice pics.

The one pictured above was not mine, it just passed through as it is. But I do have another pair in my L166’s. It's a relief to know better looking recone results are possible, when neccessary.
