Can anyone recommend a good cheap affordable amp to use for the B380. Something that will drive it effortlesly and not have a fan?

If you've got the BX63a, then you can bridge a good amp. I've got a Soundcraftsmen A200 running my B380, and it produces effortless sub-wooferage at about 460W bridged. It has no fan and stays nice and cool.

I really like my Citation 22's. I guess some people have had bad luck with them but I've never had any problems.

Working well for me too! Seems to be effortless on the B-380

You can certainly get the older Crowns cheap enough and they have the strapping built in with a switch. I have a bridged 150A running a B380 and it works great.

The D150 bridged is what, about 300watts @ 8ohms?
B380 minimum requirement is 200w and max given at 600w.

I have two B380's in my theater running from one Crown K2, the amp is running stereo. In the family room there is a B380 with a mono Crown PS-200 that also works. The PS-200 does not have the balls of the K2, for a while in the theater, I was using two mono PS-200's and the one K2 makes everything more agressive. On the flip side, in the family room how hard are you really going to push the sub... Crown all the way, I have owned every type of amp under the sun and you can not beat them.

I looked but couldn't find a Citation 22. I did find a Crown K2 for under $600 which I thought was a steal. I'm looking forward to a 2 channel setup with a PAIR OF 4313bS and the Aragon 4004 MKII along with the B-380 and the Crown bridged. I guess I'll have to figure out the cables for BX63A, B-380 and the preamp.

For the past several years I have been using a Parasound HCA 1500A to drive my B380. Great sound and you will not over work this amp. No fan. In bridged mono, 630 watts. Average cost on Audiogon/Ebay is about $400-450 for a very nice one. $300s for scratch and dented ones.

There is a JBL/Urei 6260 currently listed on that auction site. Bridgeable to big watts. They usually go real reasonable. That's what I use on my B460. While the physical condition looks good, they are not that visually pleasing to some though.
