Woofer suggestion

Thinking of building a pair of speakers.
Have a pair JBL 077 and a pair of Altec 806-8a with 511 horns.
I also have a JBL B460 subwoofer.
I need a pair (or two?) woofers.
Crossover to the horns must be at 800Hz or higher.
Any woofer recommendations?

Well you don't need lowend extension so a 2234 or an E-145-8 should fit the bill. Both have very good transient response and go up high enough to be useful in your application.

Why not a 12" woofer? Something like a 2202, 2204 or 2206 could be absolutely killer in this kind of setup. Better dispersion at crossover, and would allow higher frequency, shallower-slope crossovers... better phase linearity at crossover...
