I bought a pair of 4333A's recently and am getting the foams re-done. I just wanted to be sure the cones were factory and not aftermarket. I have had many of these woofers before, but just wanted to be sure. I see a slight redish orange at the edges. Is this normal. Hopefully some other members can shed some light. If they are not factory, I may just go for a full re-cone. Thanks.

The cones themselves look factory to me. The reddish hue is from the OEM glue (Bostik?) that was used and is present on a number of 223x woofers I have. However, I'm not a factory tech so probably need to wait till Edgewound, 4313B, Subwoofer, or Fangio weigh in. Do you have a shot of the front of the cone?

....or Fangio weigh in.
Uh-ooh, thanks Bart, too much honor ;)

I'm just a user not a pro.. but I'll give it a try – yes, those repair stickers with Jxxxx-xxxxx pattern look factory to me too.

Lets see if this works for comparison, I've also got another pair recently. Click the thumbnail below

currently in use, s/n 9112 & 9105, these cones have nothing but the small model numbers on them.

While installing new surround foam in my 136a woofers I noticed on the back of the cones 2231 was written. Actually one can find virtually every combination out there.

A buddy has discovered some 4341 in a studio cellar here in Germany last week (I'm helping him through the revival process).

One of the 2231A's has been reconed to a 2235, the other one has a 136A mark on the back.
