Hi
I have a 1965 Fender Showman with a 2 15 inch JBL D130F 8-16 ohms cab. I recently found out that the first speaker in the loop was blown. I was wondering about getting this fixed (if so how)? or where I might be able to find a replacement? I was also wondering if it is possible to run the 85 watt head through just the one speaker?
Thanks

Consider restoring your 1965 Showman by having both D130F drivers recharged and re-coned. An authorized JBL service center can recharge the alnico magnets and install all new JBL E130 moving parts. It will be like having all new drivers again.

85 watts should be okay: http://www.lansingheritage.org/images/jbl/specs/pro-comp/f-series/page04.jpg

Fender made two models, a single speaker and dual speaker with JBL D130F.
I also suggest that you get the blow D130F reconed.

I also heard that it is better to recone the speaker with the K130 kit because it is stronger is this true or is it better to put on the D130 recone kit? I was also wondering if anyone could give me a lead to where I would fine a good quality recone kit (either K130 or d130).
Thanks

The E-130 kit is "stronger" yet, and as far as I know, the only one still available from JBL. Hopefully someone with the facts will chime in on the availability of the kit.
