Hey Everyone!

I will soon be completing my L100t3 project, and I was told the tube monoblock amps sound better than any other... Please feel free with any suggestions and help... as to models or links to the tube amp that can drive my project at finish... thanks for all the help... you guys help to make it all possible!

Keep Rockin,
Mike

I'll offer a counter -opinion- (based on personal listening of L100t [not -3] using two
well regarded, un-colored amps, one 150w/ch solid-state, one 100w/ch
6550-powered):

Go with the solid-state unit unless you just have money to pour away and
really like the idea of using tubes. I say this still listening to 4430's through
the tube amp which seems to benefit from that amp more than the L100t
set does: in the midrange on-up. Both systems sounded better/tighter/more
authoritative in the bass region with the solid-state amp, but on the 4430, my
personal preference was to give up a tiny bit of bass quality. With the L100t,
the loss of bass quality was more apparent and the upper range improvement
was not worth the trade off in going to tubes.

The cost difference between the amps I compared was ~2:1 when new, more
like 5:1 used (ss being less $$). I've not done the same comparison with the -3
L100t version, so perhaps someone else can offer up their experience.

separate amps and preamps are "better" and I do use them with my 19's. But, I'm impressed with the 100 watt and above Japanese receivers from the 70's. Love my $100 Sansui 9090 with my L100's.
